After 9/11 happened, the West
Marin Alliance was initially formed to promote a more thoughtful response
to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
The WMA has a core group of 12-20 dedicated people that meets usually
monthly to discuss current issues, to mobilize people for peace marches
and vigils, to put on educational events for the community, and there
is a sustainability sub-committee. We do not have an office or a staff,
and we meet in members' homes with members rotating as coordinators of
the meeting, with decision-making by consensus. Meetings are open to all.
